About the Cover

Cover Figure

A ribbon diagram of G{alpha}i1 (in light blue, and its conformationally flexible switch regions in dark blue) associates with the RGS14 GoLoco motif peptide. Half of the GoLoco peptide is the 19-amino-acid "signature" (in red) recognized as the GoLoco motif. The C-terminal residues of the peptide that are poorly conserved among GoLoco motifcontaining proteins are also visible (green). The guanine nucleotide bound within G{alpha}i1 is present (magenta). For a discussion of the GoLoco motifcontaining proteins and their effects on G{alpha}and G{beta}{gamma} association as well as their effects on cellular processes, see the Review by Kimple et al. on pages 88-100.
